Littledale is a 33 bed residential addiction treatment centre for people whose lives have been adversely affected by their addiction and associated trauma.
Littledale is situated in a picturesque area on the edge of the Trough of Bowland 6 miles outside Lancaster. The Hall is set in 200 acres of private grounds surrounded by beautiful scenery and woodland. The tranquility and privacy of the location offers an ideal environment for therapeutic and personal growth.
Local shops and the GP surgery are within 1.5 miles of the Hall, as are a full range of leisure and recreational facilities. The Hall is 4 miles from Junction 34 of the M6. Lancaster City is on the main west coast train line and has excellent transport infrastructure. The building is accessible to people with mobility problems (including wheelchair users).
The centre offers people (aged 18 years and over) personalised, structured programmes of varying length (3, 6, 9 and 12 months) dependent on assessed needs and available funding. The treatment provided at Littledale takes into account the complexities of addiction and the associated psychological, emotional and physical problems. We recognise that addiction is frequently a feature of not only the persons life experience but also those close to them, and the duration of treatment is personalised and dependent upon individual assessed need.
The core programme is based around our unique integration of therapeutic principles with the neuro-bio–psycho-social programme we have developed and deliver. All programmes promote resident health, wellbeing and empowerment.
Each resident receives holistic support as they work towards developing a greater understanding of the range of issues and problems faced in their lives. Residents are supported to address the causes and consequences of their addiction and associated problems and develop the coping strategies that enable an abstinent life. An integral part of work we offer are the therapeutic services which support people to identify and begin to address trauma that may have contributed to their addiction.
The experienced professional staff at Littledale work with each resident to provide a safe, enabling environment that promotes self-help and mutual support. The treatment has been specifically designed to support and encourage residents to participate in a range of social therapies, psycho-educational sessions, trauma therapy, health and well-being and family focused work, to develop the coping mechanisms that enable each individual to develop the self confidence and self belief to achieve an abstinent life with meaning and purpose.
Community members are expected to:
Be actively involved in their programme, taking ownership and responsibility for the changes they need to make to continue their recovery from their addiction.
